Active Property Consulting is also subject to the requirements of the National Privacy Principles which are contained in the Privacy Act 1988( the Privacy Act ) and which govern how private sector organisations handle personal information.
In our consulting business we use personal information collected from you for the purpose for which it was collected which is to act as your consultant and to perform our obligations under our agreement with you. We generally do not seek to collect sensitive information. We would only do so with your consent, or if required by Law, or if necessary in connection with any claim or proceeding.
Real estate and tax law requires some of this information to be collected. If the information is not provided, we may not be able to act on your behalf effectively or at all.
How is personal information stored?
We hold your personal information in a combination of computer storage facilities and paper based files and other records. These facilities and records are located on site at our office.

How can you access and correct your personal information?
Under the Privacy Act, you have a right to seek access to information which we hold about you, although there are some exceptions to this. You also have the right to ask us to correct information about you which is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Active Property Consulting’s policy is to consider any requests for access or correction in a timely way.
To provide you with access to your personal information, Active Property Consulting would ordinarily provide you with a print-out of the relevant personal information from our current databases, or with photocopies of records which are held only on current paper files.
